Claiming your Google Business Profile helps patients find your optometry practice easily through Google Search and Maps. Follow these quick steps to claim your profile using the Chrome browser.
Step 1: Open Google Chrome
- Open the Google Chrome browser on your computer and go to Google.com.
Step 2: Search for Your Business on Google
- In the search bar, type the name of your practice and press Enter.
- If your practice shows up in the search results, locate the business profile on the right-hand side of the results page.
Tip: If you don’t see your business, try different name variations or search for your address.
Step 3: Claim Your Business
- On the right-hand side, within the business profile box, click Claim this business or Own this business?
- If your practice doesn’t appear, you’ll need to create a new profile by visiting Google Business Profile Manager.
Step 4: Verify Your Business
- Google will ask you to verify your business to confirm ownership. Choose a verification method (usually by mail, phone, or email).
- Enter the code Google sends you to complete the verification process.
Tip: If you're verifying by postcard, it can take 5–10 days for the postcard to arrive. Keep an eye out for it.
Step 5: Complete Your Business Information
- After verifying, fill out all necessary details:
- Business name: Use the exact name that appears on your signage.
- Category: Select Optometry Clinic or Eye Care Center.
- Hours of operation: Make sure they are correct.
- Contact details: Add your phone number, website, and email.
- Photos: Upload professional photos of your clinic, staff, and services.
